Meet Captain Jay

I grew up fishing the waters of New Jersey. I fell in love with fishing the first time my Grandfather put a rod in my hands. I hold a 50 ton master USCG license. Before moving to the Florida Keys, I was running a Charter Boat off the New Jersey coast. While doing that I vacationed to the Keys more than a few times and eventually the lure of this island paradise beckoned me to move here. What better place for me to pursue my career? With over 12 years of experience in charter fishing, in 2020 I decided to start Captain Jay Charters in Marathon Key, Florida where now I call home.  I love the offshore and inshore action, and the great fishery that it holds. There is no better feeling than seeing the excitement on my clients' faces when they land the fish of a lifetime. I know the amount of time my customer spends with us is short, but I try to make sure that they remember their experience.

Captain Ben grew up fresh water fishing in New Jersey. For his 18th birthday Ben and his dad chartered a boat in Canada to catch northern pike. This was Captain Ben’s first charter. After seeing how awesome it was to show off the fishery, Captain Ben set out to earn his captain’s license. Captain Ben joined the military after high school. Where for the next 4 years he worked on all types of different vessels. Eventually earning his 100 ton captain’s license. Ben’s last stop with the military was in Key West Florida. After falling in love with the fishery down here. Ben didn’t want to leave the keys. 

Captain Ben enjoys every trip out on the water. Whether it’s calm or rough out. There’s always something to catch. Captains Ben favorite part about this fishery is the different seasons bring in different species. Always giving the Captain and Anglers a new catch to look forward to. 

Captain Bryce is one of the local captains that grew up down in the keys. He’s lived there his entire life, fished with his grandpa and family members ever since he was able to walk and never veered away from it. Bryce started working in the fishing industry by mating on multiple charter boats, head boats, and any where that offered to be on the water in his early years of high school and wanted nothing more than that. He’s done everything from inshore, to back-country, to offshore and is just continuing to master and perfect the techniques and ways to better catch fish. Bryce has earned his 100 ton captains license, loves teaching and has amazing patience in it as well. He enjoys all weather from flat calm and trolling, to rough weather and deep dropping.
